Breakfast with Santa, The Fig Tree
    Saturday, Dec. 7 | 10 a.m. to noon
One of our favorite holiday traditions takes place at The Fig Tree. Enjoy photos with Santa and breakfast snacks, pastries, and mimosas in the beautifully decorated historic Lucas House. The event costs $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, with proceeds benefitting MiraVia, a non-profit providing a safe haven for pregnant women.

Deck the Hall at Optimist Hall
    Saturday, Dec. 7 | 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Make s’mores, write a post card to Santa, and enjoy holiday-themed specials all day long, with photos with Santa from noon to 3 p.m., a tree lighting at 5 p.m., and a movie in the courtyard at 6 p.m. Movie nights will also take place the following Tuesdays (Dec. 12 and Dec. 19), showing A Christmas Story and How The Grinch Stole Christmas, respectively.

Holiday Sip ‘n Shop tasting, Foxcroft Wine Co. SouthPark

Gingerbread house auction, Community Matters Café
    Saturday, Dec. 14 | 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Some of the city’s best pastry chefs are creating gingerbread houses that will be auctioned off at a fundraiser for non-profit restaurant Community Matters Café. The gingerbread houses will be on display beginning Dec. 9, and bids for the silent auction begin then. Pastry chefs providing houses include Brigitte Oger of CraftCakesCLT, Laney Jahkel-Parrish of 300 East, and Hannah Woociker of Barrister’s. The event will also have ornament making, cookie decorating, and more for a donation.

    Sweet Spot Studio Bake Sale
    Sunday, Dec. 15 | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Nearly a dozen women-owned bakers and artisans will be selling their baked goods and gifts at baking school Sweet Spot Studio. Rather get in the holiday spirit at home? Buy a gingerbread house kit to bring home and decorate for just $20.

Feast of the Seven Fishes, The Porter’s House
