Lovin’ From the Oven is back, with a new beneficiary and just in time for Christmas. The charity bake sale with goods from many of the city’s best bakers and pastry chefs will return to Free Range Brewing on Saturday, Dec. 22.
The debut bake sale, which took place in early November, raised money for hurricane relief efforts. The bake sale brought in more than $3,600. The goal was to raise $2,000. Proceeds from the upcoming event will go to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, which was a beneficiary of the first sale, and NC FIELD Farmworker Emergency Fund, a nonprofit that helps farmworkers when they haven’t been paid, are given unsafe housing, or sustain injuries on the job and can’t work.
Support a good cause and check baking off of your holiday to-do list this year. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. Confirmed to make an appearance are holiday cookies, bourbon pecan sticky buns, dinner rolls, vegan carrot cakes, dog treats, and gluten free or vegan cakes. Here’s who will be taking part:
