20-buck bottle: The rosés are blooming

A refreshing rosé of agiorghitiko and moschofilero from Greece

Zoe 2019 Rosé

Available at: Black Chicken (curbside service, in store shopping, delivery available)
Price: $15.00

On the nose: Bright, fresh raspberry and lime zest. This wine smells like spring!
On the palate: Well balanced acidity, clean, crisp and lively
On the plate:  Pair with grilled artichokes, roasted asparagus, grilled chicken, or egg and cheese soufflé

Our take: The 2019 rosés are finally arriving, but much slower than in previous years due to the slow down in shipping. They are the harbingers of spring in the wine world. This wine is just perfect with spring produce – it portends brighter days ahead.

Interesting fact: These grapes are grown in the Peloponnese mountains of southwest Greece. This region is famous for olives and Greek mythology. The color is a beautiful light raspberry and is created by soaking (macerating) the red grape skins for 12 to 24 hours in the white juice. —Anita Skogland
