    20-Buck Bottle: Italian Chianti

This budget red is a flexible food wine

Famiglia Castellani Collesano 2016 Toscana Sangiovese

    Available at: Pasta & Provisions
    Price: $14.99

On the nose: Cherry, autumn leaves, light spice
On the palate: Medium body, plum, cinnamon
On the plate: Tomato tart, pasta with pesto, venison, rabbit, shakshuka

Our take: A wine that tastes like a $25 or $30 bottle. This family has been making wine for over 100 years and follows organic practices. The fruit shines in this wine.

Fun fact: The location of the winery, near Santa Lucia, Tuscany, is on rolling hills that have many microclimates. This climate produces complexity in the grapes that make this a very good value wine.
