On The Palate: Light body with good texture, pepper, refreshing acidity, apple
On The Plate: Serve with cabbage dishes, pork, sushi, salmon, pasta with oil and garlic

Our Take: This is a very flexible white wine that will please many palates, at a good price for this quality.

Fun Fact: Wolfberger was established as a winery in 1874 just south of Colmar, a major city in Alsace. This part of France has bounced back and forth as a German property and as a French property for hundreds of years. The winners of the wars claimed it for its farming strength and it bounty of wines and brandies. Wolfberger is part of a co-op that was formed in 1904. The high, steep mountains where the grapes are grown can be quite dangerous for workers. The workers tether themselves to ropes as they work the vines and the harvest so they don’t end up in a heap at the bottom of the vineyard! I saw a harvest in the northern Rhone region where the workers were tied to each other and to large metal poles. The harvested grapes go down the hill in buckets on a rope pulleys. My vertigo kicked in – not the job for me! The steepest wine growing regions are northern Rhone, Alsace, and parts of Germany.
