by Anita Skogland

On the Nose: Cherries, hint of cinnamon, red plum
On the Palate: Medium body, lingering finish, integrated acidity, orange peel, raspberry
On the Plate: Roasted chicken, grilled pork chops, hearty casseroles, baked eggplant with tomato sauce
Our Take: A good value wine that will work well with appetizers or year-round meals
Fun Facts: There is a splash of Cinsault added to the grenache to give the wine some backbone and a long, palate cleansing finish. Cave La Comtadine is a cooperative cellar, founded in February 1930 by twelve families from the village of Puyméras. Today, the cellar counts over 280 winegrowers who grow their vines on six appellations.
