On the Nose: Dark cherry notes with dried herbs, spice, plum
On the Palate: Light tannins, juicy red fruits, medium body, balanced
On the Plate: Pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, hearty green salad, grilled chicken thighs, cheese plate with onion jam, cheesesteak
Our Take: You should keep a few of these bottles on your shelf. This is a crowd pleaser and a good value. It is also available in a three-liter box, which equals four bottles (you can order a box at many area wine shops).
Fun Facts: Monferrato is in the Piedmont region of Italy, which is the northwestern part of Italy, in the foothills of the Alps. It is one of Italy’s most important wine growing regions. The name Sant’ Evasio is derived from the chapel that once stood on a small hillside overlooking the property. blue-collar
