    Your Mom’s Donuts expanding again

The doughnut shop will open a location in Davidson

Your Mom’s Donuts is opening another location just weeks after taking over the old key shop in Park Road Shopping Center. Owner Courtney Buckley will share a space with Carolina Craft Butchery, a butcher shop owned by Lee Menius of Wild Turkey Farms. The opening date is Oct. 29.

Like the Park Road location, the doughnuts will be made in the original Matthews store and be transported up to Davidson. Your Mom’s Donuts stands out among the doughnut options in town because of their use of local ingredients, in both the dough and the seasonal toppings. Buckley has found success in the lake area at the Davidson Farmers Market on Saturdays, which she will continue to be a part of.

The doughnut shop in Davidson will be open daily from 8 a.m. until sold out.

Carolina Craft Butchery announced recently on Facebook recently that it would be closing, then stated the store had to stay open because of its lease. The owners closed for the month of October, and will host a grand reopening at the store this weekend. They’ll be giving away (no surprise here) free donuts and coffee while supplies last. The addition of Your Mom’s Donuts to the space is a smart move to help offset the cost of retail and bring more traffic into the store. Carolina Craft Butchery also sells local products, such as Chef Alyssa’s jams and local pimento cheese. —Kristen Wile
