The revived taproom will serve mostly sours

In 2016, the original NoDa Brewing Company location at 2229 N. Davidson closed due to limited parking. Having moved their taproom down the street to a converted warehouse, the brewery’s N. Davidson location served as a test kitchen and event space but remained closed to the public until now. The newly remodeled space, referred to as “OG,” will reopen with its OG Grand (re)Opening event on Friday, May 17.
OG will specialize in sours, giving it a specific identity separate from its N. Tryon sister location. During the time the original taproom was closed, owners Todd and Suzie Ford used the space as a test site for sour beers. The tests earned the name Boba Brett’s Sour Project — Boba for Boba Fett of Star Wars, and Brett for Brettanomyces, one of the strongest and main microbes in sour beers. In addition to sours, the OG location will also have Chop & Chisel meals, healthy meal prep options for eating in or grab & go, and Rhino Market is opening across the street. –Justin Burke-Samson
