The Exchange at 36th, a bar, marketplace, and deli, opens on Thursday, Feb. 11 in NoDa. The Exchange comes from Bistro La Bon chef Kevin Samuel.
Guests can visit for coffee from Pure Intentions during the day and beer, wine, and vermouth in the afternoon and evening, though the restaurant may be opening without alcohol as it awaits an ABC permit. Wentworth & Fenn, the bakery by former Fig Tree pastry chef Samantha Allen, will provide pastries, desserts, and bread. There will also be grab-and-go sandwiches.
Local and regional products will be for sale, including dairy from Homeland Creamery, fruits and vegetables, Cloister Honey, and Motown Spices. The marketplace will also sell pantry staples, from sriracha to pasta, as well as gifts.
The 1,400 square-foot-space, at the intersection of 36th and North Davidson streets next to The Blind Pig, is bright space with concrete floors made homey with accent rugs, living room touches, and bistro tables. The Exchange will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
