Q&A: What’s coming in 2025, favorite octopus dishes
Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q: I really loved attending the Kaley Laird and Andres Kaifer dinners this year. Can you tell me what’s coming in 2025?
Tom: As we speak, Kristen is developing our 2025 Unpretentious Palate event calendar. While it’s too early to offer any details, we can tease that next year will see the return of our Meat & Potatoes dinner (details coming after the holidays) and new programs in concert with our annual StrEATs Festival. Also look for some exciting twists to our Meet the Chef series and maybe one or two other surprises.
Q: Where can I go for a good octopus dish?

Tom: First, take me with you. I love a good octopus dish. There are several great spots. Chapter 6 has a wonderful classic octopus and chorizo dish. The Fig Tree serves grilled octopus with roasted red and poblano peppers and fingerling potatoes, while Aqua e Vino serves it with artichokes, peppers, olives, and capers. Bon appétit!
