Q&A: Vana’s Cornelius opening, our Queen’s Feast picks

Each week, we answer reader questions

Q: What happened to the Vana that was to open in Cornelius?
Kristen: Delays! Vana, a sister concept to Bardo that currently has a South End location, is still scheduled to open a Lake Norman spot, but that opening has repeatedly hit snags. According to owner Jayson Whiteside, they’re hoping to serve guests at Vana LKN on Main Street in the next 60 days.

Vana will open a location in Cornelius this winter. Kristen Wile/UP

Q: Will the conveyor belt trend make it to Charlotte? Like sushi?
Kristen: It has! If you want it, you can find conveyor belt sushi on Elizabeth Avenue at Rockin’ Rolls Sushi Express.

Q: What are the best restaurants featured on Restaurant Week?
Kristen: If I were making reservations for Queen’s Feast, I’d book them at The Bottle Tree, Napa on Providence, El Puro, Dogwood Southern Table, or Sea Level NC. Queen’s Feast kicks off Jan. 20. See the full list of participating restaurants here.
