Q&A: The Stanley space, local plants
Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q: What’s going on in the old Stanley space?
Kristen: The Crunkleton team will be opening another concept there! Getting up and running at Rosemont Market & Wine Bar is the team’s primary focus right now, and construction hasn’t yet moved on the former Stanley’s interior, so I wouldn’t expect any opening too soon. However, the temporary name on permitting hints at a Latin theme. We’ll have some more updates on this one soon!
Q: I’m planning my garden thanks to this weather! Where can I look for locally grown, organic plants?
Kristen: I’d suggest Windcrest Farm! Their nursery in Monroe sells organic fruits and vegetables. If you’d like to keep your car clean, The Patio Farmer delivers their products. There are also usually plants for sale at local farmers markets, including South End and Regional, during the planting season.
Q: What else is going in the building on 7th and Caswell?
Kristen: I haven’t heard of any other restaurant concepts going in just yet. Menya Daruma just opened across the street, at 7th and Pecan, and the Dollar General space there is being divided into multiple spaces, according to CBJ.
