NoDa Brewing launching spiked seltzer line

Brizo will come in four flavors

The name Brizo comes from the Greek goddess of sailors. Courtesy of NoDa Brewing.

NoDa Brewing announced today they’ll start selling a craft spiked seltzer, branded Brizo, in their tap room. The decision comes as flavored seltzers have become more and more popular as a healthy alternative to soda.

The malt beverage has a 4.85% ABV and will be sold in four flavors: ginger lime, ruby red grapefruit, raspberry lemon, and lemon makrut lime. (Makrut limes are an Asian lime.) Natural flavoring was used to create each of the four options.

The name is borrowed from the ancient Greek; Brizo was the goddess of sailors.

As someone who doesn’t drink much beer, I’m excited to give this a try. Brizo will be on tap only, or available in crowlers, starting on Oct. 24.

“We see this as an obvious next step,” Todd Ford, one of NoDa’s owners with his wife Suzie, said in a media release. “At any given time, you’ll find 20 different beer styles in our tap room; we’ve always been dedicated to providing variety to our consumers, and while this may seem like a departure from what we’re known for, this opens up an additional option.” —Kristen Wile
