When the Charlotte StrEATs Festival comes to town April 15-16, Gateway Village in Uptown will be packed with entertainment. Today, we’re thrilled to announce our celebrity chef guest, Amanda Freitag.

Chef Freitag is a judge on Food Network’s Chopped, and has appeared on Iron Chef America, Next Iron Chef, Beat Bobby Flay, and Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions. Watch her cook live on stage on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m., followed by a Q&A with audience members.

Chef Freitag’s demo is only one piece of the free entertainment that will take place all day long as part of Charlotte SHOUT!’s food pillar, supported by Compass. We’ll also host head-to-head cooking competitions between neighborhoods, feature Charlotte chefs cooking live on stage with local ingredients, and more. Musicians from around town will be providing a soundtrack, too.

Of course, the other main draw of the day will be our Neighborhood Tasting Ticket experience. Visit some of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods all in Gateway Village, sampling bites from the restaurants that make each neighborhood what it is.
