Plaza Midwood sushi spot closes indefinitely
Rumors of its closing had been swirling for weeks
Plaza Midwood restaurant Sushi Guru has closed indefinitely.
The restaurant opened in early 2018 in a new building after some significant construction delays. The restaurant served sushi and Japanese small plates, as well as poke bowls. Diners were frustrated by the slow service after the restaurant opened, though service improved after several months.
A sign on the door this week indicated that the restaurant would be closed for the day; however, the restaurant says it will be closed until further notice. Former employees have been looking for work elsewhere.
The original location of Sushi Guru in SouthPark has also closed. —Kristen Wile
