Q&A: Easter lamb, The Craic
Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte

Q: Where can I get some locally-raised lamb for Easter?
Tom: Sadly, there aren’t any farms in the immediate Charlotte area raising lambs and sheep. You might get lucky at one of the vendors at Charlotte Regional Farmers Market on Saturday, but your best bet, if you are willing to make a last-minute drive, is to take a nice “day-trip.”. The closest is Sun-Raised Foods in Cornelius, whose website lists several lamb cuts. 8:28 Farms in Conover recently posted about the limited availability of racks and legs of lamb for Easter. A little further down the road, check of Towering Oaks Farm in Graham as well as Montgomery Sheep Farm in Biscoe. While some of these farms’ websites do offer online ordering and shipping, it’s too late to have anything delivered before Sunday, so you’ll have to take a drive. The good news is, the weather this weekend is predicted to be perfect for your lamb expeditions.
Q: I’m starting to hear things about a new spot called The Craic. What do you know about it?
Tom: Originally slated to open at the end of 2025, The Craic is now only a couple weeks away from opening its doors in SouthPark in the former Rusty Bucket space. It’s a locally owned concept, with one of its partners being former WBTV personality Delano Little. At the executive chef position will be Danny O’Connell, previously known for his work at Heist Brewery, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, and The Public House. Running the beverage program will be Sarah Pinto.
