Where to celebrate Repeal Day
Charlotte bars and restaurants celebrate the 89th anniversary of the end of Prohibition

On December 5, 1933, America served its first legal alcoholic beverage since Prohibition began in 1920. Many Charlotte area bars and restaurants will be commemorating the repeal of the Volstead Act with a number of specials and events. All occur on Monday, December 5, unless otherwise noted.

Repeal Day tasting event featuring five Old Forester bourbons: 1870, 1897, 1910, 1920, and Statesman. 3-5 p.m., December 4. Ticketed event: $240 for table of four.

Repeal Day Dinner, 6 p.m., featuring four classic cocktails paired with dishes created by 2022 UPPY Chef to Watch Alex Verica. Ticketed event: $135.
