Q&A: Jamaican Blue Coffee, ramp season
Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q: Do you know of anyone that sells Jamaican Blue Coffee, either beans or whole?
Kristen: Yikes, no! I’ve put a few asks out, but no “yes” answers yet. I’ll report back here next week if I find some.
Q: Is there a rain plan for Saturday’s Charlotte StrEATs Festival?
Kristen: The event is rain or shine! Bring your umbrella and prepare for a great time. Much of Gateway Village is covered, but the tasting area will not be. It looks like the forecast is shifting to rain earlier in the day, so we’re still hopeful for a beautiful day!
Q: Do you know when the Publix is breaking ground in Carmel Commons?
Kristen: I don’t, but I’ve reached out to get that information. Stay tuned
Q: Is it ramp season yet?
Kristen: It is! According to chef William Dissen, Tax Day is the beginning of ramp season. They’ll be in peak through early May. We spoke to Dissen in depth about ramps a few years ago; read that full story here.
