Q&A: Will restaurants begin requiring masks again?
Each week, we answer your questions about restaurants in Charlotte
Q: Will restaurants begin requiring guests to wear masks again?
Kristen: From what I’m hearing, restaurants are waiting for state and local policy to require it before enforcing masking in their establishments. As we’ve reported in the past, customers weren’t particularly kind to servers trying to enforce mask rules when they were required by federal and state government. Owners don’t want to ask their staff to have to deal with anti-mask customers without having the ability to say it is legally required, and we don’t blame them. In his press conference this week, Governor Roy Cooper declined to reinstitute a mask mandate, saying his focus was on getting more people vaccinated.
Q: Where is that pizza from?!
Kristen: The promo photo we used to Concierge Thursday on Instagram is the Grandma pizza from Geno D’s Pizza, now open in 7th Street Public market. It’s a thinner crust pizza, and I ordered mine topped with meatballs (sliced thin, as they should be!) and mushrooms. Read more about Geno D’s here.
Q: What do the + and ++ signs mean on the events calendar?
Kristen: Great question! I’ll add this to the page to clarify. A single plus means the price doesn’t include tip, and the double plus means the price doesn’t include tax or tip.
