Q: Who is doing Rosh Hashanah takeout this year?
Kristen: Check out Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen and Yafo Kitchen’s Dilworth location! Both are currently taking preorders, Yafo until Sept. 19 and Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen until Sept. 22. We got a chance to try the challah being served with Yafo’s dinner, and it was fantastic.

Q: Does anyone in Charlotte sell gooey butter cake like you find in St. Louis?
Kristen: Not that I’ve ever seen. Jeni’s has a gooey butter cake ice cream flavor, and Ninety’s Milkshake Bar does a gooey butter cake flavor every so often. Gooey butter cake has also made an appearance in cookie offerings from Honeybear Bakeshop. Readers, any St. Louis natives with ideas? Leave them in the comments!

Q: Can I join the wine club if I can’t make the pick-up date? 
Kristen: Yes! You don’t have to come to the happy hour; you can get your wine club allocation that day or the week following. You’ll still get a chance to know the selecting sommelier through the information we provide in each quarterly selection.
