Q&A: Limani opening, breakfast, Rosemont update
Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q: Do you have any suggestions for breakfast around 8 a.m. on a weekday? I live near Sedgefield.
Kristen: I’ve always enjoyed littleSpoon’s breakfast, especially on a nice day outside. Another personal favorite is Lincoln’s Haberdashery for their Darning Egg. The owner of Mad Dash Kitchen mentioned recently he plans on eventually opening for breakfast at The Market at 7th Street, and that’s a breakfast I’d keep an eye on.

Q: When is Limani opening?
Kristen: Limani is opening in the former Upstream space in SouthPark. It’s a New York-based seafood concept. The last date I’ve heard was back in February, and at that point, they were targeting a September opening. I’ll check in to see if there’s an updated opening timeline. I haven’t yet seen any hiring notices, which makes me think that the date has been pushed back. Stay tuned!
Q: Do you have any idea what’s going on with the Elizabeth on 7th restaurants? It’s still totally empty.
Kristen: The team behind The Crunkleton will be opening a wine bar there called Rosemont. We checked in with Ryan Hart, who told us that they expect the concept to open in the fourth quarter of this year.
