Dressler’s Metropolitan gets a facelift
The restaurant has been open for nearly a decade
Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, one of Charlotte’s mainstays got a makeover. The Metropolitan location of Dressler’s Restaurant closed for a few days to get a fresh look.
Dressler’s opened in 2003 with colors reflective of a traditional steakhouse, with dark burgundies and deep golds creating a sophisticated, sultry vibe. However, trends are shifting toward a lighter, more high-energy interior, making restaurants like Dressler’s, which opened in nearly 10 years ago, look a bit out of date.
“Dressler’s Metro is coming up on our 10 year anniversary and we thought that was a perfect time to refresh the look and brighten the place up,” owner Jon Dressler says.
The new interior does away with the curtains, drawing in much more natural light, and favors whites and silvers over deep reds. The fabric chairs have been replaced with silver ones, and the table settings have become a bit more casual.
The original location of Dressler’s, in Birkdale Village, opened in 2003 and also recently got a facelift. Both restaurants are part of Rare Roots Hospitality, which includes Fin & Fino, Dogwood Southern Table, and The Porter’s House as well. See before and after photos of the renovation below.
