Dine out Tuesday and support rescue animals
Restaurants will donate portions of proceeds to the Humane Society

You know we’re passionate about food here at UP, but something else Jon and I care equally about is animal rescue. Tuesday, Sept. 10 brings an event that combines both of those things: the city-wide Humane Society fundraiser Restaurants for Rescues. This is the fundraiser’s second year.
We adopted Rosie from The Humane Society four and a half years ago, so you can guess I’ll be dining out in her honor (and maybe even bringing home a doggy bag for Rosie and Titan). When we brought her home, she was scared of everything, heart worm positive, and a skeleton. Today, she’s a happy, healthy, loyal, loving member of our family. She inspired us to start fostering, which is how we ended up with Titan, our foster fail. We’ve successfully fostered about a dozen dogs since.
Restaurants for Rescues is taking place across the city. Participating restaurants, bars, and breweries have agreed to donate at least 10 percent of their proceeds from Sept. 10 to animal rescue. Here are the establishments taking part:
