Brazwell’s in Ballantyne reopening as The Gibson
On the menu are classic American dishes, bar food, and milkshakes

The Gibson will reopen on Sept. 19.
Battle Cap Group, the restaurant conglomerate behind several Charlotte bars, closed its Ballantyne location of Brazwell’s in August, and will reopen it on Sept. 19 as The Gibson. Bottle Cap Group also owns Ink N Ivy, Slate, Whiskey Warehouse, Hot Taco, and All American Pub. The original Brazwell’s, on Montford Drive, remains open.
The menu will be family-friendly, with classic bar fare like burgers and tacos, and will also have a milkshake counter, as well as nightly live music.
Bottle Cap Group recently rebranded another restaurant it owns in Charlotte. Wu’s Cajun Seafood opened and closed over a one-year period, and is now Rosemont. It’s aimed at a young South End crowd, with neon letters that read “LIQUOR BAR” above its doors. The drinks at Rosemont, such as the Soccer Mom Special, are fun but made for a sweeter palate, and the food isn’t much to rave about across the concepts. The vibe at each bar are the big draws, with over-the-top decor and beautiful patios.
We’ll check out The Gibson soon, and (if it’s worthy) add it to our restaurant finder.
