Chef and restaurateur Jim Noble opened his latest concept today, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. Bossy Beulah’s Chicken Shack, located in West Charlotte on Freedom Drive, will serve fried chicken sandwiches, as well as chicken nuggets. The restaurant is named for Noble’s great aunt, who cooked the family fried chicken on Sundays after church. You may recognize the name from the King’s Kitchen menu, as the same aunt inspired Aunt Beaut’s Pan Fried Chicken.
The restaurant is located next to Noble Smoke, Noble’s recent barbecue venture, and features a retro design with floras and pastels. The restaurant will launch as lunch-only, with additional hours coming soon.
The chicken sandwiches on the menu are The Beaut ($7), fried chicken breast with mayo and pickles, and The Cheesy Beaut ($8), the same sandwich with cheese added. Sandwiches sold out in 2.5 hours opening day. Side options are slaw, fries and salads. Wine, beer, and a signature cocktail (as well as sodas) are available.
Noble is the owner of Noble Food and Pursuits, the restaurant group that includes Rooster’s, The King’s Kitchen, and Noble Smoke. —Kristen Wile
